Non-repayable ‘Überbrückungshilfe Corona’

On 12 June 2020, the German government adopted the key points for the “bridging aid for small and medium-sized enterprises which have to cease their business operations completely or to a significant extent in the course of the Corona crisis”.

The bridging assistance is a cross-sectoral grant programme with a duration of three months (June to August 2020) and a maximum programme volume of 25 billion euros.

The aim of the programme is to secure the economic existence of small and medium-sized enterprises which suffer considerable loss of turnover due to complete or partial closures or conditions imposed by Corona.

For example, some sectors can apply for new/ further bridging aid if they meet certain conditions, such as a drop in turnover. These requirements must be confirmed by a tax consultant or auditor.
